Bridgeport police officer Sgt. Randy White died when a suspect rammed his cruiser on highway 114 on Thursday.

Storm sirens will ring throughout Bridgeport Friday afternoon in memory of a police officer killed in the line of duty.

Sgt. Randy White was killed one year ago while directing traffic.  White was sitting in his patrol car when it was struck from behind by an SUV.

Bridgeport's storm sirens will go off at 3:15 p.m. for one minute in memoriam.

Storms moved through the area Friday, but cleared the northwest part of the Metroplex just after noon.  Should storms surface again, the sirens will only be heard in the event of an emergency.
