Boy Scout Designs Drop Off Boxes for Worn Out American Flags

If you have a flag that needs to be retired, a North Richland Hills Boy Scout has come up with a solution.

On Monday, Joey Beltran from Scout Troop 144 presented five wooden drop off boxes to the city.

The drop off boxes will sit outside North Richland Hills fire stations.

Anyone who has an American or Texas flag that is worn out, can drop the flags into these boxes.

Troop 144 will stop by several times a year to pick up the flags and retire them properly.

Beltran built the five wooden boxes as part of his Eagle Scout project.
