An 11-year-old boy drowned in a small Collin County lake on the Fourth of July holiday, according to the sheriff's office.[[385487121,C]]
Officials said the child was in a small sailboat with his family late Monday afternoon when he got in the water near the intersection of South Ferguson Parkway and County Road 1036 in Anna.
At some point, the boy went under the water and didn't resurface.
Members of the Collin County Dive Team found the boy's body approximately two hours later.
He was not wearing a life preserver when divers located him, officials said.
The boy's identity has not been released.
