Boy Dies After Being Struck by DPS Car

    Boy hit while trying to cross a road at about 1 a.m.

     

     

    Police have identified a 14-year-old Central Texas boy who died after being struck by a Department of Public Safety patrol car.

    College Station police say Mark Harding Jr. of College Station died following the accident around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

    Police say the Harding was hit while trying to cross a road and suffered a head injury. The teen died at a hospital.

    Police have identified the driver as Trooper Justin Stohler.

    DPS spokeswoman Tela Mange told The Associated Press that authorities are investigating the accident. She says the trooper was on patrol when the boy was struck.
