Boy, 6, Drowned in Townhouse Swimming Pool in Plano

A boy drowned over the weekend at a pool in Plano.

Police Fire-Rescue crews arrived at the Highpoint Townhomes on East Medalist Circle Saturday at 12:45 p.m. after the six-year-old boy was pulled out of the community pool.

A Plano police officer was on the scene, performing CPR on the child. Fire crews took over and transported the boy to Children's Medical Center at Legacy, where he died.

According to witnesses, a teenager who lived at the townhomes noticed the boy in the pool, pulled him from the water, notified his mother and called 911.

The victim's name has not been released.
