A 2-year-old boy has been reported missing in Southeast Texas after his mother awoke from a nap and he was gone.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office said the search continued Wednesday for Devin Davis after an Amber Alert was issued around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities are concerned that the child wandered away from his new home in Cleveland, about 45 miles northeast of Houston, and into some nearby woods.

The family this month moved to Texas from Virginia. Further details on where they formerly lived were not immediately available.

Officials said Devin has red hair, blue eyes and weighs about 40 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red and gray jersey T-shirt, jeans and Spiderman shoes.
