Investigators said a 73-year-old man found dead at home Wednesday in Johnson County was likely overcome by smoke as he tried escaping.
Firefighters were called at about 3:40 p.m. to a fire at a mobile home near the intersection of Longhorn Trail and Farm-to-Market Road 917 west of Joshua.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at about 4:25 p.m. and found L.D. Love deceased inside, authorities said.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, but said it appeared to be accidental.
