Biker Groups Plan Toy Runs To Mesquite

Biker Rally for Mesquite Foster Children

Approximately 150 bikers from 52 area motorcycle clubs will deliver toys for children in foster care in the Metroplex in a ride that will take them from the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center in Dallas to the foster care offices of Lutheran Social Services in Mesquite.

To take part in the rally, each biker will bring a toy or donate $10 to help cover expenses for the annual Christmas party hosted by Lutheran Social Services for its foster children.

The toys will be gift-wrapped and given to the foster children for Christmas.

The "motorcade" leaves the MLK Center at 1 p.m.  Approximate arrival time in Mesquite is 2:00 p.m.

Ride begins from 2922 Martin Luther King Blvd., Dallas. Ride ends at 18601 LBJ Freeway, Mesquite.

Tilt's Toy Run

A parade of motorcycles will leave Brown's Cycle, Inc. located at 5223 Military Parkway at 11:30 am and proceed to Elks Lodge, 4201 Gus Thomason, Mesquite, TX.

Since 1988 this run has provided toys to over 12,000 area children, who otherwise would not have had Christmas presents.  In addition to the children who will be provided toys collected at this years run through Mesquite Social Services, Elk's Lodge and Genesis Women's Shelter proceeds will help provide for area families in the form of "Secret Santa". 

Tilt's Toy Run is a part of Wishing on the Lone Star (a 501(c)(3) organization), which in addition to the toy run, grants wishes to terminally ill patients over the age of 17.
