Big Game to Attract Petty Crime

Pickpockets expected to join pimps, prostitutes for Super Bowl

Picking pockets must be a fairly lucrative business.

According to the detective from the Miami-Dade Police Department quoted in a Fort Worth Star-Telegram article published today, they travel from big event to big event looking for their marks.

Local law enforcement agencies, therefore, expect more than a few nimble-fingered crooks to descend upon our fair burgs for Super Bowl XLV. Once here, they’ll join other nefarious talent — pimps and prostitutes, and OK, one group’s probably more talented than the other — in town to make it an even more festive weekend, and oh boy, aren’t we lucky.

The article suggests ways to protect game ticket purchases, but most of the local population will not be so lucky as to have tickets, which usually go to out-of-town bigwigs, like pimps.

The indigenous personnel need to watch out for their money, their well-being, and other goodies, and that about covers all three groups.
