Remember Darwin Day, the Grand Prairie resident who entered a Bazooka bubble gum contest 59 years after it ended? The 70-year-old received another special treat as a result of his resourcefulness β a trip to the World Series.
Day's persistence in entering the long-expired contest inspired Topps Confectionary Brand general manager Tony Jacobs, who started up a long-distance friendship through texts and emails. The two pledged to get together in person, and the World Series β pitting the Cleveland Indians against the Chicago Cubs β offered the perfect opportunity.
