Baylor University To Build $13.6M Track Stadium

Baylor University regents have approved a plan to build a $13.6 million track stadium at the Waco campus.

The board of regents announced the plans Friday. The new stadium will replace an existing track complex.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports the track and field stadium will be built on the banks of the Brazos River next to a $250 million football stadium that is already under construction.

The new track stadium will include a nine-lane track, a training building with men's and women's locker rooms, a large indoor practice facility and seating for up to 5,000 people.

The new track and football stadiums will open at the start of their seasons in the 2014-15 school year.
