Baylor Losing Members of their 2016 Class?

With Baylor University head football coach Art Briles getting fired this week some Baylor recruits who signed letters of intent back in in February are looking for new places to play college football.

Locally, I’m told, Sachse wide receiver Devin Duvernay doesn’t want to play for Baylor anymore and is talking with other college coaches.

NBC 5 "Inside High School Sports" host David Watkins and I have separately reached out to him but he has not gotten back to us.  He is an Under Armour All American and the 100 meter Texas high school track champion.

Bears may lose running back Kam Martin. He tweeted out “Thanks for everything Art Briles” the day the coach was let go.  Houston, Texas and TCU are schools on his radar.

Offensive lineman Patrick Hudson chose Baylor over Texas but he is looking at getting out of his commitment and Byron Nelson standout defensive end Brandon Bowen make not get to Waco this fall either.  Bowen is a player Oklahoma and Oregon were after.

Baylor will have to let the players out of their commitments. It would be a bad look if the school tried to keep players who wanted to play for Briles and now have a change of heart because of so much uncertainty in the Bears football program.
