Former first lady Barbara Bush could leave the hospital this week after successful open heart surgery.
The 83-year-old wife of former President George H.W. Bush had surgery to replace her aortic valve on Thursday and was moved out of the intensive care unit on Saturday.
Gale Smith, a spokeswoman for The Methodist Hospital in Houston, said, "Everything is going great. She's in great condition."
Doctors are monitoring her recovery. She could be discharged later this week, Smith said Sunday.
