An infant has died, the victim of an apparent accident drowning according to Dallas police.
Investigators said it happened at an apartment in the 1300 block of Cockrell Hill Road around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers told NBC 5 11-month-old Jayla Villatoro and a 2-year-old male were in the bathtub playing with the water running, but the drain was open.
Their mother was in the other room when she realized she didn't hear them anymore. She returned to the bathroom to find the drain had been pushed back in and water was filling the tub.
Jayla wasn't breathing when she was removed from the bathtub. She died a short time later at the hospital.
The 2-year-old boy was not injured.
At this time, police are investigating.
