Baby Born in Strip Club Lot

Father reported on club for Star-Telegram

A baby boy born yesterday at about 2 a.m. probably holds the world record for earliest visit to a strip club.

His birth occurred in the parking lot outside the Flashdancer gentlemen’s club in Arlington while a couple of bouncers held a crowd at bay, according to a Fort Worth Star-Telegram report. Crowd members probably wanted to see if the baby was a girl.

The baby’s father might have known some of the dancers by their first names, too. Not because he’s a regular at the club and reflexes guided him there when he jumped in the car to drive his laboring wife to the hospital, but because he’s a staff writer for the Star-Telegram and has covered Flashdancer and other such establishments in Arlington.

A Grand Prairie police officer recorded the primary assist on the baby’s birth location. He stopped the father for speeding, which delayed the trip to a hospital. Because of that traffic stop, the Jones family, and newest member, didn’t make it to the Plano maternity unit where the mom was scheduled to give birth, and the kid got tired of waiting.

So, welcome to the world Baby Boy Jones. It gets better. Really.
