Three Injured in The Colony, Carrollton House Fires

Dog rescued from burning home in Carrollton

Firefighters in The Colony and Carrollton fought large house fires Wednesday afternoon, injuring three people.

The fire in The Colony broke out around 1 p.m. Wednesday on the 5200 block of Ragan Road. The blaze was so intense that the Frisco Fire Department was called to assist The Colony firefighters.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling the wind-fueled fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two Injured in Carrollton Fire

In Carrollton, two workers were injured when a fire broke out inside a home on the 1600 block of McGee Lane after noon Wednesday.

As the 2-alarm fire destroyed the second story and roof, one of the workers broke his arm while breaking through a door to rescue the homeowners dog trapped inside.

The home backed up to Coyote Ridge Golf Club not far from Hebron Parkway and the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

The injuries to the workers are minor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
