Austin Police Search for Thieves After 8 Robberies

Austin police are searching for a group of men blamed for at least eight armed robberies.

Police on Wednesday said the group of two to four men in their 20s committed the robberies in June and July. One of the men shot at a cashier and missed during the last robbery on July 19.

Police say one of the men goes inside a store while the others drive a getaway vehicle or act as lookouts. Investigators say the men have robbed a liquor store, a gas station and restaurants.

A manager at Bejucos Mexican restaurant says he believes one of the men has robbed the restaurant three times in the same month. He says the robber waved a gun while demanding money.
