A new public drinking fountain has the blessing of some Central Texas church leaders who are helping the homeless gain access to clean water.

The Rev. Charles Kullmann of St. Austin Catholic Parish on Sunday blessed the fountain that was paid for by a church outreach program, plus donations.

Kullmann says the water fountain in downtown Austin should help meet a basic need of the homeless.

The three-tier fountain also includes a ground-level bowl to provide water for dogs.
