At Least 2 Hurt in Explosion at Corn Flour Plant in Muleshoe, Texas

At least two people have been hurt in an explosion at a corn flour plant in the Texas Panhandle.

A spokeswoman for Minsa Corporation says the explosion happened Wednesday morning at the company's plant in Muleshoe.

Alex Torres told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal that she no further immediate details on the accident.

KJTV-TV reports authorities are looking into whether some type of tank exploded.

Two patients were taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock, about 60 miles southeast of Muleshoe. Hospital spokesman Eric Finley says both people were transported by helicopter. He had no immediate details on names or conditions of the patients.

Messages left with Muleshoe police and Minsa weren't immediately returned Wednesday.
