DeSoto police have arrested and charged 19-year-old Kay Ira Watts with capitol murder in connection with the stabbing of JaCorey Wilkerson.

Wilkerson's body was found near an alleyway Wednesday morning. According to investigators, Wilkerson was stabbed 11 times and robbed.

Capt. Ron Smith said detectives recovered evidence that tied him to Wilkerson's death. He added that the teens knew each other but he wasn't sure how close they were.

Police said Wilkerson lived in the neighborhood and would have started the next school year at DeSoto High School as a senior.
