Armed Man Robs Six Insurance Offices in Dallas

Police release surveillance footage of robber

Dallas police say the same man is linked to six armed robberies of insurance offices in just more than a month.

The sixth hold-up occurred at about lunchtime Thursday at a State Farm office in the 4400 block of Illinois Avenue at Cockrell Hill Road.

The other robberies were at:

  • Baja Auto Insurance at 702 W. Jefferson Blvd. on July 26
  • L.A Insurance at 1111 E. Ledbetter Drive on Aug. 13
  • Baja Insurance at 610 E Jefferson Blvd. on Aug. 22
  • Baja Insurance at 2475 S. Cockrell Hill Road on Aug. 26
  • Latinos Insurance at 8017 Lake June Road on Aug. 27

Surveillance cameras recorded video of the robber at two of the locations, and police posted it video on YouTube.

The man is described as a black man with a thin build who is 25 to 30 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall. He carries a handgun and has been seen driving a red 2008 Ford Explorer.

The Baja Insurance office on Cockrell Hill Road that was robbed Monday is in the same shopping center as the State Farm office that was robbed Thursday.

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous, can contact Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest.
