Arlington Teacher Arrested for Being Drunk at School

No children were at school during incident

An Arlington elementary teacher faces charges after she was allegedly drunk at school.

Megan Updegraff, 28, a first-grade teacher at West Elementary School, was arrested Friday and booked into jail on a charge of public intoxication.

No children were at school on Friday because classes didn’t begin until Monday.

West Elementary is part of the Arlington Independent School District but is located in south Grand Prairie.

A brief statement from the district said Updegraff is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

Updegraff could not be reached for comment Monday night.
