Arlington Police Department Needs Help Identifying Man Likely Shot During Sexual Assault

Police say victim wrestles gun from attacker, shoots at him

The Arlington Police Department needs assistance in trying to identify and locate a person who may have been shot by his victim during a sexual assault in July 2014.

Arlington police said Friday that on July 26, 2014 a woman was sitting in her parked car outside of a sports bar on the 2200 block of East Abram Street when a man entered her vehicle and pulled out a hand gun.

The man then forced the woman to drive to an industrial area in Northeast Arlington where police said he sexually assaulted her.

Investigators said that during the assault the victim was able to grab the man's gun and shoot at him.

"Based upon her interview and evidence found at the scene that night, investigators believe the suspect suffered a gunshot wound and fled the scene on foot," Arlington police said in a statement Friday.

Police believe the man may have been hit in the upper chest or arm.

A detailed description of the woman's attacker was not provided.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Arlington Police Detective Bill Landolt at 817-459-5577. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward and can remain anonymous by contacting the Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477 or online at 469TIPS.com.
