Funeral Services Held for Arlington Officer

Officer to be interred at Moore and Sons Cemetery

Arlington police officer Craig Gordon Story, who died after crashing his motorcycle into a school bus last week, will be laid to rest Tuesday.

Story's funeral at Crossroads Christian Church was uncharacteristically short for a fallen officer.  The sole speaker at the funeral was Arlington police chaplin Harold Elliott, who not only shared a few stories from Story's career but on the officer's character as well.

"Craig was, as you have read and heard, a family man," said Elliott. "He'll be remembered as a devoted son, an affectionate father, faithful husband, a man who put his family first. Craig was destined for greater things and he reached that destiny last week."

Story, 34, is survived by his expectant wife, Danielle, and 2-year-old son John.

"Most every law enforcement officer is well aware there is an inherent danger in the work. Most never fully accept the fact that any given shift may end in death. Unfortunately, today that is what brings us together," said Elliott.
