Just one day after he was arrested by Cedar Hill police, Arlington police officer Tibor Kovacs was fired.

Kovcas was terminated Friday while on administrative leave, based on information gathered during an internal affairs investigation.

Kovacs was placed on leave Nov. 1, 2010, after allegations surfaced that he had inappropriate contact with a woman while on duty in October.

Arlington's criminal investigation is still ongoing.

Last Thursday, Kovacs was arrested by Cedar Hill police and now faces domestic violence charges including aggravated sexual assault and assault of a family member.

The APD would not comment on Cedar Hill's investigation, nor would they comment further on their own investigation until the it is complete.
