An Arlington gym was on lockdown Monday night after a man acted erratically, police say.
According to officers, the man was seen yelling and ranting outside, screaming there was a bomb on the property at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center in the 4600 block of West Bardin Road.
When police arrived at about 8 p.m., they detained the man while fire officials investigated the backpack he was carrying.
Fire crews confirmed to NBC 5 that they x-rayed the bag and nothing was found.
The lockdown was lifted and the area was soon cleared.
No injuries were reported.
Police said the man, who was not identified, has a history of mental illness.
