Arlington Clears ‘Person of Interest' in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Arlington police say a person of interest in a fatal hit-and-run that killed two people early Saturday morning had nothing to do with the crash.

Police made the announcement on Twitter Monday afternoon.

Tammy McLain, 40, was struck and killed at about 2:12 a.m. when she and a man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, tried to cross Division Street near Bowen Road in West Arlington.

Officials said the pair were not in a crosswalk when they were struck.

On Sunday afternoon, police released several photos of a man they said visited at a nearby gas station at about the time the pair were hit.

Police identified the man and spoke with him Monday afternoon. After the interview, police said the man was not connected to the deaths.

Police said the investigation into the deaths is ongoing and released no further information.
