Arlington Charter School to Stay Open

The Jean Massieu Academy in Arlington will be open in the fall of 2010 after improving its poor academic and financial performance.

The charter school was given unti July of this year to improve or be stripped of its accreditation, the Star-Telegram reports.  The school had received a substandard rating in academics for four straight years.

The academy, which has about 100 students, specializes in educating deaf students and because of that was put on a one-year probation instead of being shutdown last summer.
