Kids Appease Rain Gods with Dance

4,000 kids to participate in rain dance

Well, the governor’s attempt to summon rain failed, so let’s let the kids have a go at it.

Give it a go, they will.

Wednesday, in fact, at 10 a.m., 4,000 children enrolled at Fort Worth-based Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers Texas campuses, along with the teachers and staff, step outside to perform a coordinated rain dance.

Please, let it work. Guess we’ll know by about noon whether or not it’s successful.

Lord knows we need the rain. It looks like fall out there with all the brown leaves on the ground.

Interesting, though because depending on one’s point of view the event could be seen from at least two distinctly different vantage points.

One might see the cute-factor involved: “Cherubs Appeal for Rain.”

Then there’s the other side of that coin: “Children Forced into Pagan Ritual.”

Discuss.
