Annual Warrant Roundup Coming Up

Police across North Texas are gearing up to round up people with unpaid tickets and warrants.

The seventh annual statewide warrant roundup starts March 2.

Dallas police on Tuesday gave one last warning to anyone with unpaid citations and warrants.

"Every year, I speak to wanted individuals or people who get arrested and they think, 'I've heard about this roundup, but I didn't think I'd be a part of it,'" Chief Deputy Marshal Paul Hansen said. "And every year, we have people who are greatly surprised when we show up and put them in jail for their warrants, so I encourage anyone who's wanted to take care of their warrants [to do so] before this roundup starts."

People in Dallas can go to the City Hall's website to check on their warrant status and look at their options to take care of the warrant.
