As North Texans begin their holiday shopping, tens of thousands of angels on the Salvation Army Angel Tree need to be adopted.
There are less than three weeks left to adopt an angel from the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
The last day to sign-up is Dec. 9 and all gifts are due back on Dec. 10 at the very latest.
The Angel Tree will help more than 50,000 North Texans have a better and brighter holiday season this year.
Shopping for an adopted angel takes hardly any time either.
The Willmon family, visiting from their vacation home in Granbury, came to the Ridgmar Mall the day before Thanksgiving only with plans to adopt two angels from the Angel Tree.
"This is kind of the one thing we know we're making a difference for somebody," said Vonda Willmon "My kids have a great Christmas, everyone should have a good Christmas."
The Willmons signed up for a brother and sister and went off to buy shoes and some toys for the pair. It took them less than an hour to come back with all the angel gifts, knowing full well what it will mean to those they're helping.
"I'm a kindergarten teacher and I just see the needs of kids these days," said Meagan Willmon. "And just when they need shoes and stuff, you kind of feel like, shoes are something we take for granted, so when somebody needs something like that, especially a kid, you just feel like you really need to help them out."
