An American Airlines captain from Florida has been arrested on a Texas complaint accusing him of transporting child pornography.

Broward County, Fla., jail records show Christopher Holmes of Wilton Manors, Fla., remained in custody Tuesday. A complaint filed in Dallas says Holmes used chat services and email to exchange pornographic images.

An American spokeswoman says Holmes, who's been with the carrier 23 years, has been withheld from duty. Fort Worth-based American didn't immediately elaborate Tuesday.

Investigators who determined Holmes flew for American put a "look out" on his travel profile. Holmes was searched Aug. 16 while trying to board a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Mexico. Investigators say his laptop computer yielded child porn images.

Online jail records don't list an attorney for Holmes, who was arrested Friday.
