American Airlines Flight Evacuated in DFW Due to Possible Fire

An American Airlines flight bound for North Texas was evacuated after a possible fire on board, according to officials.

American Airlines flight 3492 from Mobile Regional Airport in Alabama landed safely at D/FW International Airport at about 7:45 a.m. Upon landing, the pilot reported "an indication of hot brakes," according to airline officials.

"We landed and didn't know anything was wrong until the pilot came on," passenger Jason Rinehart, of Mobile, said.

Passenger Alex Price was seated in a wheelchair outside of D/FW Airport's Terminal B because he tweaked his knee when he jumped down to the Tarmac.

"Somebody started yelling, 'Deboard now. Don't grab anything. We had a fire,'" he said. "Everybody jumped out onto the runway."

Never Price nor Rinehart said they were concerned for their safety during the ordeal.

"I've never walked on a runway before," Rinehart said. "It was kind of scary, but things happen all the time."

All passengers and crew were evacuated shortly after landing. The passengers were taken to the terminal by bus. No injuries were reported.
