Children Found Safe After Amber Alert

Three children involved in an Amber Alert  issued out of the Houston area have been found safe near Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story referred to the base as Sherman Air Force Base due to incorrect information provided to NBC 5. The error has been corrected.

The three children, 5-year-old Liam McIntosh, 3-year-old Marshall Peralez, and 1-year-old Korbin Peralez, were picked up by their mother, Vickierae Lopez Peralez, 26, Tuesday afternoon from the home of her mother in Harris County.

Vickierae Lopez Peralez and the children were to return to Las Vegas where her military husband is stationed. The two have been separated for about one month.

Authorities say Vickierae Lopez Peralez sent text messages to her mother stating she had thoughts of suicide and possibly driving off a bridge with the children.

The children are now in Child Protective Services custody while Peralez undergoes psychological testing.
