Actor Jake Gyllenhaal Visits Dallas Mega Shelter

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal visited the Dallas Mega Shelter on Tuesday along with a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing, according to a tweet from the City of Dallas.

Gyllenhaal visited the shelter with Jeff Bauman, a survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Bauman will be depicted by Gyllenhaal in an upcoming movie. [[445869793,C]]

The city said Gyllenhaal and Bauman visited with staff and evacuees at the shelter.

According to the city's last update, about 200 people who evacuated Hurricane Harvey are left at the shelter. On Wednesday, the remaining evacuees will move to the Tommie M. Allen Recreation Center. 

At its peak, the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center held close to 3,000 evacuees. 

Gyllenhaal and Bauman also met with amputees at a research facility in North Dallas earlier today. [[445839153,C]]

Their movie "Stronger" opens in Dallas-Fort Worth on Friday.
