ATM Ripped From Foundation in Theft Attempt

Dallas police are searching for the individuals who tried to steal an ATM early Friday morning.

The incident happened at the Go Federal Credit Union on the 6500 block of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway shortly before 3 a.m.

Investigators said the thieves used a larger tractor to pull the ATM from its location, though they were only able to pull it 100 feet away.

An alarm at the bank sounded and the thieves were able to escape before police arrived.

The property manager said this is the second time in eight years that someone has tried to steal the ATM from this location.

Investigators said the tractor used in the crime might have come from one of the nearby construction areas.
