    Flight lands in Buffalo after smoke reported in the cockpit.

    An American Airlines flight from New York to San Francisco made an emergency landing in Buffalo Sunday night.

    The pilot spotted smoke in the cockpit and decided to land.

    All 173 people on board the plane spent the night in Buffalo while American Airlines arranged for a new aircraft to be sent to Buffalo.

    Mechanics are working to try to pinpoint what caused the problem.
