    But now there is another deadline to keep in mind.

    Thousands of people still need assistance this holiday season as the deadline for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program draws close. (Published Friday, Dec 11, 2009)

    This year more than 57,000 angels were placed on trees around the Metroplex.  The program provides Christmas gifts to needy children in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Ellis counties. Givers can select an angel tag from a tree at an area mall. Each tag provides the name, age, gender, clothing sizes and special needs and wishes of a needy child, senior or disabled adult.
