Unemployment rates rose again in June for 90 percent of metro areas in the U.S., including Dallas-Fort Worth.

DFW unemployment now rates at 8.2 percent -- a rise of about one percent from May's 7.1 percent rate.

Seasonal factors, including job cuts due to colleges being out for summer, contributed to increases in unemployment claims in towns like Bryan-College Station and Laredo -- the latter reaching a June jobless rate of 9.4 percent, which is close to the national average of 9.5 percent.

Analysts expect the national average to increase to 9.7 percent after the Labor Department reports the July numbers next week.
