Authorities said a fire forced a Euless family out of their home early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters said the fire was fully involved when they arrived at the home in the 300 block of West Wood Drive at about 3 a.m.
"They had quite a bit of a firefight to deal with to get this fire knocked down," Euless Fire Department Chief Wes Rhodes said. "It took about 30 minutes to get it knocked down."
Rhodes said seven people — believed to be a family and visiting relatives — and two small dogs safely escaped the home.
"The Red Cross was notified for the family," Rhodes said. "They are being taken care of now. We got them out of the weather as much as we could."
One man was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution after he was having trouble breathing, Rhodes said. He was alert and talking with paramedics.
"Just a terrible loss," Rhodes said. "But the good thing is everybody is OK, the pets are OK and you can replace property."
