4 Hurt When Crane Breaks at Port of Galveston

Officials say four dock workers at the Port of Galveston have been hurt when a ship's crane broke while unloading a 60-ton section of a wind tower.

The Galveston County Daily News reports the workers suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening Wednesday.

The Coast Guard said one worker was transported to a hospital. Further details weren't immediately released on the victims.

Port director Mike Mierzwa said the Asia Zircon II from Singapore had a malfunction with one of its cranes located on the ship.

U.S. safety authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

Further details weren't immediately available. A message left with the Port of Galveston wasn't immediately returned Thursday.
