3 on Texas 10 Most Wanted Lists Arrested

Texas Department of Public Safety officials announced Wednesday that three people on Texas 10 Most Wanted lists were captured.

Dennis Ray Sandoval

In 2012, 29-year-old Dennis Ray Sandoval was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Dallas County.

After his release from prison, authorities said Sandoval was arrested for forgery in Freestone County May 24. He was added to the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list after he escaped sheriff's deputies' custody.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office had also issued a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. They, along with U.S. Marshals, found Sandoval near Oak Cliff June 6 and arrested him after a chase on foot.

John Erick Anderson

Authorities said 54-year-old John Erick Anderson was released from prison on parole in 1993 after a 1987 conviction for molesting two juvenile girls. He was placed on the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list in 1998 after not registering as a sex offender in Austin.

U.S. Marshals and Mexican federal authorities located Anderson and deported him from Mexico June 2. He remains in custody in Houston.

John Ernest Maxwell

Since 1992, 39-year-old John Ernest Maxwell had been convicted of several felonies, including assault, burglary and drug and weapon possession.

Authorities said they put Maxwell — a member of the Bloods street gang — on the 10 Most Wanted List May 19 for a parole violation.

U.S. Marshals took Maxwell into custody June 4 in Austin.
