3 Finalists for Chancellor of University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture

Three finalists have been named in the search for the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.

The Institute of Agriculture consists of UT Extension, AgResearch, the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The finalists are: Tim Cross, the institute's current interim chancellor; Mary Holz-Clause, the dean of the College of Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona in California; and Alan Sams, the executive associate dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University.

The position reports directly to UT President Joe DiPietro, who said the Institute of Agriculture holds a special place in his heart because was chancellor there for four years before becoming the chief executive of the statewide university system in 2011.
