The U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded Saturday morning in Irving.
The epicenter was located along the John W. Carpenter Freeway and Walton Walker Boulevard, just east of the University of Dallas campus.
It followed a 1.8 magnitude earthquake Wednesday evening just south of the Las Colinas Country Club along East Northgate Drive.
The Dallas Morning News reports seismologists with the USGS were scheduled to meet with the state's earthquake task force Monday at Dallas City Hall regarding the state's recent earthquake activity. A briefing is expected in the coming weeks.
