A 3.0 magnitude earthquake hit near Haslet Thursday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.[[362860841,R]]
The quake was recorded at 4:29 p.m. near Farm-to-Market 156 (Haslet County Line Road) and Intermodal Parkway, just north of the Tarrant-Denton county line and just west of the Alliance Airport.
People who live in Haslet were shocked to feel the earth shake beneath their feet.
"You heard it and you could feel it through the building," said Clarence Lee. "You know, I don't know what to expect when an earthquake hits not experiencing one before."
Lee owns Lee's Bar B-Q just about a mile south of the epicenter near F.M. 156. It was just a normal day in the kitchen until the quake hit, he said.
"I thought maybe a truck had hit something and shook the building," said Lee. "I went, nothing happening out there. So that leads you to say, 'What's going on?'"
According the USGS, the quake was felt from Denton to parts of Fort Worth. Haslet firefighters were inside the station when they felt the rumble.

"I was kind of surprised," said Capt. Steven Harvey. "I've grown up in Haslet and never felt an earthquake before. So it's kind of surprising to have one so close."
Thursday's quake follows a 2.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Irving late Wednesday night.
That earthquake was recorded near the 1100 block of Anderson Street at 10:24 p.m.
No damage was been reported with either earthquake.
The Irving quake was the latest in a cluster that has struck near the Irving area since Oct. 28, 2014. Most have ranged between 1.8 and 2.5 magnitude, though some have been stronger.
