An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the time and other details of the shooting. The incorrect information was given by Dallas police. NBCDFW.com regrets the error.

A man was killed early Friday morning after someone walked up to his Oak Cliff home and fired into his bedroom window, Dallas police said.

Just before 4:45 a.m., the man, along with his wife and 2-year-old son, were sleeping in their bed at their home on the 1200 block of Deerwood Drive when someone opened fire.

Ricardo Zamarron, 31, and his wife were struck, but their child escaped unharmed, police said. Zamarron died, while his wife was hospitalized with numerous gunshot wounds to the leg.

Investigators said it was not a random shooting and that Zamarron was specifically targeted.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Dallas police at 214-671-3661.
