2 from Texas Killed When Shuttle Bus, Car Crash in Boston

Massachusetts State Police say two Texas residents died when the hotel shuttle bus they were on was rear-ended by a car near Logan International Airport in Boston.

A police spokesman says a 59-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, both from El Paso, were ejected from the bus on Route 1A north in East Boston at about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The shuttle van's driver, two other passengers, and the driver of the car were taken to hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening.

No names were released.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the car exited the Ted Williams Tunnel and was traveling north when it struck the rear of the bus owned by the Hampton Inn, which had just entered 1A north from the airport.

The investigation is ongoing.
