Two Bodies Recovered After Colleyville House Fire: Authorities

Mother, daughter escape house fire; firefighter hospitalized for exhaustion

Colleyville firefighters have recovered two bodies from a home destroyed by fire Thursday morning.

The identities of the two people found in the home will be disclosed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office.[[305323301,L]]

However, the family told NBC 5 former Colleyville Mayor John Andrews and his adult grandson, Bob Wayne O'Neal, were unaccounted for after the two-alarm fire that broke out at the home on the 2200 block of Oak Knoll Drive at about 7 a.m.

Andrews' wife and daughter, Barbara Andrews and Karen McMillian, respectively, both made it out of the home, the family said.

Crews from eight fire departments worked to contain the fire, and at one point part of the house collapsed, preventing firefighters from entering out of concerns of further collapse.

"We can't get into the structure because of the amount of heat and fire and the way the structure is built and the way the structure is collapsed," said Tarrant County Fire Marshal Randy Renois.

"It was just a very large fire from the beginning, and they [the firefighters] were working as hard as they could to get it out," said neighbor Jimmy Zimmerman.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"We are fairly certain that we are looking at an accidental fire," said Renois.

One firefighter was transported to Baylor Regional Medical Center of Grapevine for observation due to overexertion and fatigue, officials said.

Andrews served as mayor of Colleyville from 1973-1979.
