Police said the driver of the 18-wheeler approached a sharp curve on westbound U.S. 175, lost control and overturned at about 7:40 p.m. About 36,000 pounds of watermelons spilled onto the road after the crash.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured, authorities said.
Crews continued to clean the wreckage Thursday morning, but the wreck was cleared by 7 a.m.
