14-Year-Old Girl Never Sexually Assaulted in Southwest Dallas: Police

Dallas police say a 14-year-old girl who reported an alleged abduction and sexual assault last week was not attacked after all.

Dallas detectives who were assigned to investigate the case said they learned from follow-up interviews that the abduction and assault "did not occur," according to Dallas Police Maj. Max Geron.

Dallas police thanked the public for their help in searching for the alleged attacker after the girl gave a detailed description of both a person and vehicle.

Geron said in a news release that Dallas police have provided the girl with information on agencies, "that are better equipped to provide her with assistance for the difficult life challenges she is facing."
